TAGGIES™ Wins 4th iParenting Media Award!
“Best
Products of 2005”
“It’s hard to say which
is better – the super-soft material of a Taggies® blanket
or the comforting textures of the many brightly colored loops
of ribbon around its edges (the ‘tags’).”
– L.A. Daily News
Acclaimed children’s product manufacturer Taggies,
Inc. has been named a winner in the iParenting Media
Awards “Best Products of 2005” competition.
The Spencer, Massachusetts company was honored for its “Taggie® Toes” baby
booties. This marks the fourth time Taggies, Inc. has
won an iParenting Media Award. In 2004 the company was
honored for its Little Taggie®, Big Taggie®, and Take-A-Long
Taggie®.
The first in a new line, Taggie Toes are soft,
sweet booties adorned with a happy bunny face and, of course, Taggies “tags.” Both
comfortable and warm, Taggie Toes keep babies
feeling toasty while they enjoy some Taggie time!
“Our goal for the iParenting Media Awards program
is to connect consumers with the very best products in the marketplace.
To that end, we are excited to announce the Best Products of 2005,” says
Alvin All, CEO of iParenting Media. “These products exceeded
our high evaluation standards to take their place among the best
in the industry.” iParenting Media Award winners endure
rigorous testing and intensive review and must demonstrate excellence
in their product categories.
Hundreds of juvenile product companies submitted entries to the “Best
Products for 2005” iParenting Media Awards competition. Each
company submitted four identical samples of products, which were
then precisely matched within iParenting’s database of experience
reviewers. An expert, a family, and personnel within a group setting,
such as a licensed childcare facility or school, reviewed all products.
After thorough evaluations of each item were submitted, results
were compiled and presented to the iParenting Media Executive Committee
for final approval. The end result of this comprehensive process
was iParenting’s list of the “Best Products for 2005.”
Taggies came into being five years ago when new
mom and early-childhood educator Julie Dix observed
that her baby was more interested in the tags on toys and blankets
than the items themselves. She then teamed up with
fellow mom Danielle Ayotte to create colorful
fleece blankets edged all around with small, satiny tags. The
company’s award-winning, patented product line has expanded
in the past five years to include, in addition to booties, plush
toys, travel toys, pillows, books (created with Scholastic, Inc.)
and several sizes of blankets, all brightly colored and adorned
with plenty of the small, smooth tags that soothe little ones like
nothing else.
Taggies products are sold at more than 4,000
independent specialty shops in the United States, Canada, England
and Ireland, and through more than a dozen catalogs, including
RedEnvelope and Lillian Vernon. “My First Taggies® Book:
Sweet Dreams” and “My First Taggies® Book: I Love
You” are sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Borders, Barnes & Noble
and other mass marketers. Taggies products may also be ordered
online at www.taggies.com and by phone at 1-877-4-TAGGIE.
